We collect only what you give us. We measure how the site is used in house, with no cookies, no third parties, and no IP address ever stored. We never sell your information.
Which sites this covers
Both run by Shining Truth Press: shiningtruthseries.com, the reader site, and shiningtruthpress.com, the publisher’s site.
What we collect
If you join the email list. Your email address and the date you joined, held by our email provider. Like most email services, it also records whether a message was opened and which links were clicked. We will email you about new books, and occasionally about news or an offer. Every message has an unsubscribe link.
If you use the contact form. Your name, email address, the topic you chose, and your message.
If you buy a book. Your name, delivery address, email address, and what you ordered. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us, so we could not store a card number if we wanted to. We keep the order record because tax rules require it.
When you visit. Our host processes ordinary request information including your IP address, in order to serve the pages and block abuse. We do not use it to identify you.
How the site is used. We count page views, which parts of a page people reach, and which links they click, so we can tell whether any of this is working. It runs on our own servers. No analytics company is involved and there is no tracking pixel.
Cookies and browser storage
We set no cookies. A few short-lived markers sit in your browser’s session storage, to group one visit, to clear the contact form after you send it, and to remember if you have asked us to stop measuring. None holds personal information and all disappear when you close the tab.
We also keep a rough daily count of visitors, from a one-way fingerprint of your IP address and browser. The address goes into the fingerprint and is discarded — it is never written down — and the fingerprint is rebuilt every few days, so it cannot recognise you beyond that.
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal we honour it, and record nothing about your visit at all.
What we do not do
- No third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising networks on either site
- No cookies, of any kind
- No cross-site tracking
- No selling, renting, or trading your information
- No profiling or automated decision-making
Children
The series is written for children, but both sites are meant for the adults buying and reading with them. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child has given us some, write to us and we will delete it.
Who else handles it
A handful of services do the work named above. Stripe handles payments, and separate providers run the email list, deliver messages from the contact form, host our mailbox, and host the sites. Each acts only on our behalf, and we share your information with nobody else. They operate internationally, so it may be handled outside your country, including in the United States.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from any email and it takes effect immediately. You can also ask us at any time for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to delete it, at hello@shiningtruthseries.com. We act on deletion requests promptly and without asking why.
How long we keep it
Order records for as long as tax rules require. Email addresses until you unsubscribe. Messages for as long as we need them to answer you. Usage measurements are deleted automatically within twelve months, and hold no name, email address or IP address.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date above, and if the change is significant and you are on our list, we will tell you by email.
